MCM HOLDS ONLINE LECTURE ON SUFISM

Tarikh- the History Association of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised a special online lecture on the topic 'Sufism and its Mystical Dimensions'.

The resource person for the lecture was Ms. Mehru Jaffer, acclaimed Author and Journalist. Ms. Jaffer shed light on the origin, practices and beliefs of the Sufi saints. Choosing the famous Sufi song ‘Qun Faya Qun’, Ms. Jaffer highlighted the hidden meaning of Sufi ideology.

She asked the students to imbibe the important message of the Sufis of living together in love and harmony.

The lecture was followed by an interactive discussion which saw active participation from the participants. The lecture saw over 100 students and faculty members in attendance.

Principal Dr Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this endeavour of the History Department to enrich the knowledge base of students. She added that helping the students find the truth of divine love and wisdom is one of the objectives of education.
