Tightening the noose of the anti-social elements in this border district, the Ferozepur police has arrested five members of robber’s gang. While divulging details, SSP Charanjeet Singh said that following the inputs, a raid was conducted near grain market area in Mallanwala block during which five members of a robber’s gang, were arrested.
The SSP said that the accused have been identified as Ravi and Jora (brothers), residents of Village Kirtowal in Tarn Taran district, Bobby resident of Village Dumni Wala, Satnam Singh resident of Village Achhe Wala and Sagar resident of Village Rakhri.
“The accused were planning to rob an ATM while they were nabbed. The police also recovered one SUV (Innova PB 30 N 2732), one gas cylinder with cutter, one country made pistol (.315 bore with five live rounds), sharp edged weapons and an iron rod from the accused”, said SSP.
“The accused have been booked under sections 309, 402 IPC besides 25, 54, 59 Arms Act at Mallanwala police station (FIR No. 104 dated 22.06.2022)”, SSP further added.
As per information, the accused have been booked already in several cases of theft and robbery at various police stations.
