ACTIVE GANG OF ONLINE FRAUD IN THE NAME OF PROVIDING FAKE INSURANCE POLICIES BUSTED

A complaint was received at PS Cyber Dwarka district wherein the complainant alleged that he made a complaint through email against two insurance policies of insurance company Bharti Axa Life in March 2021.

On this the complainant received a call from one Mr. Vikas Srivastava who introduced himself as a grievance officer from IRDAI, and assured him that the insurance policy amount will be refunded to him within a week. Subsequently the complainant got trapped in the flattery words of the impersonator and transferred a total of Rs. 2,75,484/- in the name of CA charges. Later complainant found himself duped. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/22 dated 16/06/2022 U/s 420 IPC was registered at PS Cyber Dwarka.

A dedicated team comprising IO/SI Vikas Kumar, HC Kuldeep, HC Malkhan, and Ct Vikas under the supervision of Insp. Jagdish Kumar, SHO/Cyber and overall supervision of Sh. Vijay Singh, ACP/Ops Dwarka was formed to solve the case.

M. Harsha Vardhan, IPS, DCP, said, during the investigation, the details of alleged bank accounts were obtained and it was found that the bank account is operated by the name of one Prince Yadav, and from this bank account, multiple transactions have been done in two other bank accounts of one Rahul Pal and one Ashu.

Ashu was traced out in Budh Vihar, Mandoli. It was further revealed that one person namely Harsh is also involved in this fraud.

On 24.06.2022, she disclosed that one person in a Baleno car will come to receive the cash amount from her. On that, the police team interrupted the car and nabbed the car driver. He was thoroughly interrogated, he disclosed his identity as Amit Sharma @ Harsh Vardhan @ Monu R/o Defence Colony, Bhopura, Ghaziabad, U.P, Age-31 years, confessed and accepted his involvement in a syndicate of fraud. On 25.06.2022, accused Amit Sharma was arrested in the case vide FIR No. 41/22 U/s 420 IPC, and the co-accused Ashu was also arrested in the same case. Rs. 60000/- were recovered from the possession of accused Amit Sharma. 

The accused identified as Amit Sharma @ Harsh Vardhan @ Monu R/o Defence Colony, Bhopura, Ghaziabad, U.P, Age-31 yrs. and  Ashu R/o Budh Vihar, Mandoli, New Delhi, Age-28 yrs.
