Punjab Govt. initially appointed Acting DGP Mr. Gaurav Yadav, 1993 Batch IPS, in place of Mr. V.K. Bhawra, DGP, who was enjoying holidays for two months at critical atmosphere of Punjab , facing terriorists and gangsters threats.
Amidst speculations of few names Mr. Gaurav Yadav , ys appointed in Punjab Gaurav Yadav, a 1992 batch IPS officer of Punjab cadre, has been given the command of DGP (Acting)
In fact, IPS Gaurav Yadav has been appointed acting DGP of Punjab, as he worked in various big posts in Punjab, The formal appointment can be made through a penal which will be sent to UPSC on coming back Bhawra.
Earlier Yadav has also been appointed as Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
It may also add that Mr. VK Bhavra was appointed as the new DGP of Punjab (for two years) in January 2022 during the Congress government of Charanjit Singh Channi. V. K. Bhavra is a 1987 batch IPS officer.
