Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Abohar and Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the occupiers of footpaths in Abohar not to stack any goods and let pedestrians use the same. He said that if the people did not clear the footpaths, then the MC would take strict action.

Dr. Aggarwal said that the MC has constructed footpaths on both the sides of the road from Malout Chowk to Major Surinder Prasad Chowk for the convenience of the general public. But it has come to notice that many shopkeepers were creating problems for pedestrians by keeping their vehicles or goods etc. there. Also, with the footpaths constructed on both sides of Circular Road and Rani Jhansi Market Road, shopkeepers were creating obstacles for the public.

He appealed to all the shopkeepers who have temporarily occupied the footpaths to remove the goods and leave it open for public walking. If the footpaths are not vacated by any shopkeeper, the goods will be confiscated by the Corporation and appropriate legal action will be taken against the erring shopkeeper.
