An information was received from Majidia Hospital regarding a person namely Sanjeev Kumar, age 45 yrs R/o Govindpuri, Delhi is brought dead from an accident site on July 6. The caller suspected that it was a murder. Police immediately reached and came to know that Sanjeev Kumar R/o above has been admitted by his wife Mrs. Geeta @ Najma. She informed that she along with her husband and son was coming back to her home from the vegetable market by the motorcycle.
Meanwhile her husband fell down due to accident. She could not explain about gunshot injury caused to her husband. Thereafter, a case vide FIR no. 474 /22 u/s 302 IPC & 27 Arms Act was registered on 07-07-22 at PS Govind Puri on the statement of Nazma @ Geeta.
The investigation started and a dedicated team comprising of Insp. Jagdish Yadav/SHO Govind Puri, Insp. Aishveer Singh, Insp. Sunil Kumar, Insp. Manjeet, SI Vivek Tomar, SI Ravi Beniwal , HC Narsi, HC Rishi Raj, HC Vikas,HC Jai Prakash and HC Budhi Prkash under the close supervision of ACP/OPS Sh. Manoj Sinha and ACP / Kalkaji Sh. Pradeep Kumar was constituted.
Initially the case was a blind murder case and so many in angles were there to follow i.e. the deceased had two wives, strained relationship with 27 years old son, extramarital affairs, enmity with colleagues at work place and also some pointers towards religious differences between husband and wife etc. The initial suspicion went to 27-year-old unemployed son who had strained relations with father but his interrogation revealed nothing incriminating against him.
Another team of PS Govindpuri examined the angle of enmity of work place as well as extra marital relationship at work place. This was also ruled out after through interrogations of several colleagues of the deceased.
Thereafter, complainant Geeta @ Nazma was again examined and on checking her mobile phone, it was found that the complainant had deleted a photo of the number plate of bike used by the deceased at the time of his murder. She took that photo on 05-07-22 and deleted on the same day which created suspicion over her version. During sustained interrogation she disclosed that her husband was married twice.(SUBHEAD)
Geeta first wife of her husband (deceased) was living along-with her son and two daughters in Dakshinpuri, Delhi in a rented premise. Deceased was having cruel behavior with Geeta@Nazma. Geeta @ Nazma was provided a mobile phone by Geeta (Ex-wife) through her daughter Komal.
Geeta @ Nazma used to hide that mobile phone at her neighbour’s house to communicate with deceased’s ex – wife Geeta. When his ex-wife Geeta came to know the facts that the deceased Sanjeev had already ruined her life and now ruining the life of Geeta @ Nazma, she along with her daughter Komal and Geeta@ Nazma hatched a criminal conspiracy to kill Sanjeev and divide his property among themselves. Geeta @ Nazma contacted her cousin (son of bua) Iqbal to arrange a sharp shooter for killing her husband, Sanjeev.
Iqbal made provided the contact number of a sharp shooter namely Nayum Ansari R/o Distt- Godda, Jharkhand to Geeta@ Nazma and he fixed the deal in 15 lac rupees for killing Sanjeev. On 05-07-22, a photograph of the number plate of Sanjeev’s motorcycle was given to Nayum by Geeta @ Nazma for establishing the identity of Sanjeev.
Thereafter, she deleted it from her phone. Nayum was informed that she would go to market on 06.07.2022 in the evening at about 6-7pm with her husband Sanjeev. Sharp shooter Nayum along with Iqbal came to Govindpuri on bike and take their position at a Dhaba.
When Sanjeev reached near Deepalaya School near Transit camp, Govindpuri riding his motorcycle, Nayum shot him and fled away from the spot. After initial breakthrough in the case, on the basis of local information and continuous surveillance of mobile phones of wanted shooter Nayum Ansari, it was ascertained that accused has escaped from Delhi and may have reached either at his native place in Distt. Godda, Jharkhand or at his work place in Valsad, Gujarat.
On the directions of DCP/South-East, two special teams were constituted under the close supervision of ACP/OPS Sh. Manoj Sinha and ACP/Kalkaji Sh. Pradeep Kumar. Team led by Insp. Aishveer Singh was sent to Distt. Godda Jharkhand and team led by SI Ravi Beniwal was sent to Valsad, Gujarat. On the basis of surveillance of mobile phones of wanted shooter Nayum Ansari it was ascertained that accused had escaped from Delhi and reached at his native place in Godda, Jharkhand. The team immediately swung into action and proceeded to Godda, Jharkhand.
The team deployed local sources near the village of accused Nayum, mounted technical surveillance and collected local information with the help of local police and succeeded in getting two mobile numbers belonging to accused but they were found switched off since 10.07.2022. Thereafter, a raid was conducted at the residence of accused Nayum but he was not found there. The family members were interrogated at length but no purpose was solved.
The Godda district specially the village of accused and nearby area belongs to one tribal community. The area is known for naxalite activities where even the local police avoid conducting raids as there is history of many incidents of attack on police party's by aadivasi naxalites who took hostage of senior police officers.
The team kept the surveillance on the entry and exit ways of Nayum’s village Jamuni Paharpur to extract any clue about accused Nayum. In the early morning of 12.07.2022, an information was received that accused Nayum staying in the village of his in laws i.e, Bassbhita, Jharkhand. The team immediately conducted a raid but accused fled away before they could reach but the team succeeded in getting a mobile number of one Shabbir Ansari along with whom Nayum left the village Bassbhita.
The said mobile number was put on surveillance and the team reached in a tribal dominated forest and hilly deep area approx 50 kms away from the main road and succeeded in apprehending Shabbir Ansari from Ratanpur village. On his instance, the team apprehended another person namely Noornabi (Brother-in-law of Nayum) from another site of Ratanpur village. On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he had dropped Nayum Ansari near village Ghatiyari by his bike. The team rushed to village Ghatiyari, PS Sunder Pahari, Distt Godda, Jharkhand and conducted raid in 4-5 houses of aadivasis. Ultimately, the team succeeded in apprehending accused Nayum from first floor of a house by climbing the roof of that house as the house was locked from inside.
In the meantime, all the villagers gathered there and encompassed the raiding team. They started opposing the apprehension of Nayum and blocked the exit way and tried to get Nayum Ansari free from police custody. Keeping in view of the situation, the team members acted tactfully and drive away their cars in reverse mode to divert the gathering to another side. The villagers pelted stones on the car of police team but the team succeeded in extracting Nayum from deep rooted Naxalite area without any casualty or untoward incident. The accused was taken on transit remand from the court in Jharkhand and was brought to Delhi.
Ms. Esha Pandey, IPS DCP, said, on sustained interrogation, accused Nayum Ansari disclosed that he was hired by the wives of deceased through Ikbal Singh, cousin of Nazma @ Geeta for killing Sanjeev Kumar. He has received Rs. 20000/- in his account which was transferred by Komal (daughter of deceased Sanjeev Kumar). He came to Delhi along with his friend Manish to complete this task. They took a bike of Cousin of Manish who lives in Lajpat Nagar. On 06-07-22, they came on bike and followed the deceased from his house. On getting a chance, he shot the deceased near Deepalay School and fled away. Later they both went to their native places.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS : Accused Geeta w/o Sanjeev Kumar R/o Dakshinpuri, Delhi, age 42 years is illiterate. She used to work in NDMC on contract basis. No previous involvement has been found against her. Accused Geeta Devi @ Najma w/o Sanjeev Kumar R/o Govindpuri Delhi age 28 years is illiterate. She is a housewife. No previous involvement has been found against her. Accused Komal d/o Sanjeev Kumar R/o Dakshinpuri, Delhi age 21 years has studied upto 8th class. No previous involvement has been found against her. Accused Nayum Ansari s/o Qurban Ansari R/o Vill-Jamuni Paharpur, Godda, Jharkhand age 38 yrs has studied upto 9th class. He used to work as tailor in Valsad, Gujarat. No previous involvement has been found against him.
