IIID STRIVES FOR STANDARDIZATION OF INTERIOR DESIGN COURSES: AR MANMOHAN KHANNA

The Chandigarh Regional Centre of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) celebrated its 7th Charter Day with a discussion on ways to uplift the standard of interior design education. The chief Guest of the programme was Ms Sumit Kaur, Retd Chief Architect, Deptt of Urban Planning & Administration, Chandigarh, while Ar Ravindra Kumar from Bangalore was the guest speaker.
IIID’s vision is highly professional and the Institute is helping students in this field and encouraging local artists and artisans from different places. For this Chandigarh Centre is planning to hold a showcase with the theme of Art and Craft in the coming months, said Ar Manmohan Khanna, Founder Chairman of IIID Chandigarh Centre. He emphasized the need for standardization of professional education.
Interior Designer Ashima Vashisht, Chairperson, IIID Chandigarh said, “We believe in raising awareness regarding interior designing and design profession to the masses. IIID believes in collaborations with major institutes of related professions to widen the horizon of its members. We are willing to collaborate with more and more universities.”
(SUBHEAD)(MOREPIC2) National President of IIID, Ar Jabeen Zachariah in her message said that it was also the golden jubilee year of IIID, a proud moment for all the members associated with the 32 chapters in India and Dubai as well.
Pidilite executives, Shantanu Adhikari, Chief Sales Marketing, and Keshav Pratap Singh, National Key Account Manager, gave a presentation. Ar Sudha Ojha, Sanjay Khanna, Ar Renu Saigal, Jeet Kumar Gupta and a host of prominent personalities were also present on the occasion. Ar Deepika, Professor, Chandigarh College of Architecture, was the master of ceremony.
IIID was established in 1972, while the Chandigarh centre was launched in May 2015, which has carved a niche for itself from day one and has been accepted graciously all over India. The stronghold point of this chapter is its focus on bridging the gap between professionals and the general public.
