Ministry of Home Affairs has awarded “Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” for the year 2022 to six Delhi Police personnel viz. Sh. Deepak Yadav DCP, Sh. R P Meena DCP, Sh. Sanjay Dutt ACP, Insp. Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Insp. Anuj Kumar Tyagi and SI Muneesh Kumar.
(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2)(MOREPIC3)Sh. Deepak Yadav DCP & SI Muneesh Kumar – Case FIR No. 92/2021 u/s 384/385/420/34/120B IPC & 66D I.T. Act, PS North Avenue, New Delhi. This was a high-profile case in which accused persons had demanded Rs.2 Crore from Hon'ble MoS threatening to release video related to some incident, on social media platforms. Accused Kabir Verma, an insurance agent, Amit Kumar who runs a call centre, the masterminds behind the crime were arrested along with associates Ashwani Kumar, Manjhi, Nishant Kumar and Prabhat Kumar after an extensive technical analysis and unique & precise scientific investigation under the techno-savvy guidance & close monitoring by senior officers within a week’s time. 8 Mobile Phones, 2 laptops and 1 tab were recovered.

R P Meena DCP – FIR No. 32/21 u/s 457/380 IPC PS Kalka Ji, SE District in which huge quantity (app. 25 Kg) of gold/jewellery was stolen from a jewellery Showroom on 20.01.2021. More than 20 teams were formed comprising of more than 200 personnel. These teams coordinated well and continuous technical & scientific investigation resulted in 100% recovery within 14 hours of the incident.
Sh. Sanjay Dutt ACP and Insp. Anuj Kumar Tyagi – FIR No. 09/17 u/s 22/29 NDPS Act PS Special Cell in which accused persons namely Amandeep Singh and Harpreet Singh were apprehended with 25.202 Kg of Psychotropic Drug 'Mephedrone' (commonly known as Meow-Meow) and “Methamphetamine”. Later, another accused Harvinder Singh was physically brought (extradited) from London to India on 24/12/2021 and arrested in this case. This case is the second successful Extradition from the United Kingdom by the same team of Special Cell in a calendar year and third in the records of entire Delhi Police.(SUBHEAD)
Insp. Sanjay Kumar Gupta – FIR No. 252/2018 dated 25.05.2018 u/s 3/4 MCOC Act PS Alipur was registered against desperate gangster Jitender @ Gogi (now deceased) for running an 'Organized Crime Syndicate' in Delhi and Haryana, which was investigated in Special Cell. Fifteen (15) members of this Syndicate viz. Jitender @ Gogi, Digvijay, Dinesh, Yogesh, Kuldeep @ Gulshan Gullu, Deepak @ Pradeep, Suryaveer, Praveen Bazard, Kapil @ Vijay Maan, Kapil Maan @ Kallu, Rohit @ Moi, Mohit @ Panchi, Gaurav @ Kapil, Sanjay @ Phalla and Surender Maan were booked and as many as five charge-sheets were filed. Further, backbone of this “Organized Crime Syndicate' was broken by attaching assets/properties worth more than Rs. 15 Crores.
“Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation” was constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognize Excellence in Investigation by investigating officers.
