In view of the Independence Day Function at Parade Ground Sector 17, Chandigarh, the following traffic restrictions/diversions shall be in place on 15.8.2022:-
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: The following road stretches around Parade Ground, Sector 17 shall remain closed from 6:30 AM onwards on 15.8.2022 till the time the function at the Parade Ground gets over:-
a. From roundabout of Sector 16/17/22/23 upto Gurdial Singh Petrol Pump, Sector 22-A on Udyog Path.
b. From Old District Court, Sector 17 upto Shivalik Hotel on the backside of Parade Ground, Sector 17.
c. From Lyon’s Restaurant Light Point near MC Office Sector 17 upto Parade Ground.
*No general parking shall be allowed in the parking area in front of shops in market of Sector 22-A from 6:30 AM onwards till the function gets over.
*Special invitees having authorized Car Parking Labels are requested to approach Parade Ground, Sector 17 from the roundabout of sector 16/17/22/23 (Cricket Stadium Chowk) on Udyog Path and park their vehicles in the parking area in front of the market of Sector 22-A.
*General public is requested to approach Parade Ground, Sector 17 either from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk or from 17/18 Light Point side.
*The general public is requested to park its vehicles in the following designated parking lots :-
a. Parking area of Sector 22-B
b. Circus Ground, Sector 17
c. Parking area adjacent Neelam Cinema, Sector 17
d. Multi-story parking, Sector 17
*Buses coming towards ISBT Sector 17 shall be diverted towards ISBT Chowk Sector 17 from Kissan Bhawan Chowk and Piccadilly Chowk via Himalaya Marg & shall reach ISBT Sector 17 from Small Chowk (near Gurdial Singh Petrol Pump).
*Further, in order to de-congest this area at the time of dispersal, traffic shall be diverted away from ISBT Sector 17 Chowk on Udyog Path by diverting traffic coming from 17/18 Light Point, Aroma Light Point, Sector 18/19/20/21 chowk and Cricket Stadium Chowk for half an hour i.e. from 10.45 AM to 11.30 AM. Further, at the time of dispersal, only buses will be allowed to ply on this stretch.
SECURITY ADVISORY:-
*Invitees are requested to be seated latest by 8:30 AM at the Parade round, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
*Special invitees/attendees are requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate Nos. 4, 6 & 7 i.e. opposite Sector 22 side, Chandigarh.
*General public is requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate No. 8, 9 & 10 i.e. opposite ISBT Sector 17, Chandigarh. *Media persons are requested to enter Parade Ground from Gate No. 5 i.e. opposite Sector 22 side, Chandigarh. *All attendees are requested to carry an original photo ID card.
*Special invitees are requested to prominently display the authorized “Parking Label” on the windscreen of their vehicles and carry invitation card. *All attendees are requested not to bring any objectionable articles such as bag, match box, knife, cigarette, weapon, liquor, inflammable items, electronic devices, black flag, banners/posters, etc.*All attendees are requested to remain seated in the designated sector till the function gets over and then disperse in an orderly manner.
Meanwhile Traffic Advisory for “At Home” function at Punjab Raj Bhawan & Haryana Raj Bhawan on Independence Day-2022 was also issued.
In view of “At Home” function on the occasion of Independence Day-2022 at Punjab Raj Bhawan and Haryana Raj Bhawan, the following traffic restrictions/diversions shall be in place on 15.8.2022 :-
AROUND PUNJAB RAJ BHAWAN: Movement on the road stretch in front of Punjab Raj Bhawan from roundabout of Sector 5/6/7/8 till T-Point of Vigyan Path and Sukhna Path near Chandigarh Golf Club shall remain restricted / diverted for the general public from 3:30 PM onwards on 15.8.2022 until “AT HOME” function at Punjab Raj Bhawan gets over.*At Home” invitees are requested to approach the Punjab Raj Bhawan from Sector 5/6/7/8 Chowk on Vigyan Path as one-way traffic system shall be implemented in front of Punjab Raj Bhawan. Invitees are requested to prominently display the authorized “Parking Label” on the windscreen of their vehicles. Members of Chandigarh Golf Club are requested to use the Sukhna Path road from SGGS College side (dividing road of Sectors 7/26) for approaching and leaving the Club from 3:30 PM onwards on 15.8.2022 till the function gets over.
AROUND HARYANA RAJ BHAWAN:1. Movement on the road stretch from Gursagar Sahib Gurudwara turn on Uttar Marg upto 5/6/7/8 Chowk on Vigyan Path shall remain restricted / diverted for the general public from 2.30 PM onwards on 15.8.2022 until “AT HOME” function at Haryana Raj Bhawan gets over.“At Home” Invitees are requested to approach the Haryana Raj Bhawan from Sukhna Lake side on Uttar Marg as one-way traffic system shall be implemented in front of Haryana Raj Bhawan. Invitees are requested to prominently display the authorized “Parking Label” on the windscreen of their vehicles. General public is requested to use Uttar Marg from Rock Garden side for approaching Sukhna Lake.
