The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)  on Sunday arrested Senior Barracks Store Officer( Lt Col) Rahul Pawar,MES, Ambala Cantt, Pardeep Kumar, Subedar Major, MES, Ambala Cantt and  twoprivate persons contractors namely Dinesh Kumar and Pritpal, both private persons  ,  in an alleged bribery of Rs.22.48 Lakh.

A case was registered against the accused on the allegations of demanding bribe. The alleged payment of bribe was to ensure that most of tenders/orders from Ambala Cantt are awarded to said private contractors.

CBI laid a trap and caught both the public servants and the said private persons (bribe givers) in the course of transaction of Rs.22.48 Lakh.(SUBHEAD)

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused in Ambala, Kurukhetra which led to recovery of huge cash and incriminating documents. During searches, Rs 32.50 lakh(approx) was recovered from the premises of the Senior Barracks Store Officer (Lt Col) and an amount of Rs. 16 Lakh (approx ) was also recovered from the possession of the said private persons (Contractors).
