DELHI POLICE PUBLIC LIBRARY FELICITATED WITH ICSR AWARD FOR EMPOWERING SOCIAL WELFARE

The Delhi police public library of PS Jamia Nagar has been awarded with Indian Community Social Responsibility (ICSR) award for providing welfare services to the people.

This award under the patronage of Brand Honchos has been won by PS Jamia Nagar’s library by competing with other 100 libraries situated at different locations in Delhi.

Esha Pandey, IPS, DCP, said,  at present, 150 students are registered in this library who are guided by Ex-Jamia University students and aspirants preparing for UPSC exams voluntarily. As a part of community policing, the police staff will continue to work with the same zeal in collaboration with various welfare associations by introducing such initiatives time to time.

This library was established in 2012 with the collaborative efforts of Shikhar Organisation, an NGO and Delhi police. Since then, it has been in operation to provide aspirants specially from backward areas an environment full of resources like books, wi-fi and other basic amenities.
