ACCUSED DIRECTOR OF A REAL ESTATE COMPANY INVOLVED IN DUPING GENERAL PUBLIC BY INDUCING THEM TO INVEST IN HIS COMMERCIAL PROJECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED, DUPED MORE THAN 150 VICTIMS AND CHEATED TO THE TUNE OF Rs.30 CR.

Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Delhi Police has arrested an accused Deep Kanwar Singh Walia S/O RupinderVir Singh Walia R/o H.N 3 FF, Sector 16A, Chandigarh Age 41 Year in case FIR NO. 268/18 dated 27/12/2018 U/S 406/420/120B IPC PS EOW.
The case was registered by the complainant J.P. Kakkar and others, wherein it was alleged that in the year 2012-13, the alleged accused invited the investors through advertisements to part with their hard earned money in his project i.e. Mist Avenue. Initially they claimed that they were going to build 33 floors /storeys in 99 days and collected money with malafide intention to dupe and cheat the allotees.
Apart from that, they kept raising multiple fraudulent demands without undertaking construction and even levied interest on the amount which was not due at that time on the part of the complainants and other allotees. They further alleged that later on, they changed the projects name “Mist Avenue” to “Festival City” and they also changed the name of the company from M/s Avenue Pvt Ltd to Mist Direct Sales Pvt Ltd.(SUBHEAD)
In 2012-2013 alleged person assured that possession of the unit will be delivered by the year 2015, but they arbitrarily extended the date of completion to 2022 and forced the allotees to enter in a new contract with alleged company M/s Mist Direct Sales Private Ltd, which was formerly known as Mist Avenue Pvt Ltd. The project was inordinately delayed without any construction done whatsoever. They further added that alleged company threatened of forfeiting of 35% amount if any demand of returning the invested money is raised. Alleged company is neither handing over the allotted units nor returning the hard earned money to the allotted buyers.
After preliminary enquiry, the case vide FIR NO. 268/18 dated 27/12/2018 U/S 406/420/120B IPCwas registered at PS EOW.
INVESTIGATION : Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, after registration of the case the investigation was taken up. Bank Accounts and other details of the alleged company were scrutinized and analyzed. It was revealed that the alleged company received money from public at large on the pretext to invest in commercial project. Search of accused was made but he never joined the investigation. Thereafter NBW of the accused Deep Kanwar Singh Walia were obtained.
TEAM AND ARREST: A team was formed consisting of investigating officer SI Parbhat, Inspector Jasveer and ASI Vijender to nab the accused and Insp Naveen Dahiya to provide technically support under the supervision of ACP Ghanshyam ACP/Section VII/EOW and overall supervision of Sh Jitendra Kumar Meena, DCP/EOW and Smt. Chhaya Sharma, Jt.CP/EOW for arresting the accused.
Accused was arrested on 05/09/22 from Sector 16A Chandigarh. Besides, co-accused Satinder Singh Bhasin s/o Sh. Jaswant Singh R/o D-24, Rajouri Garden, Delhi had already been arrested in this case.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Deep Kanwar Singh Walia has a master’s degree from New Jersy Institute of Technology, USA. He used to work in USA and later joined the alleged company M/s Mist Avenue Pvt Ltd.
