PS-Cyber Crime of Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arrest of two accused from Dhampur, Bijnor U.P. For this SP Cyber Crime formed a special team of Ps- Cyber Crime under the supervision of DSP/Cyber Crime headed by SHO, PS- Cyber Crime, in Case FIR No 02 dated 25.06.2022 U/s 419, 420, 120 B IPC, PS CYBER CRIME, Chandigarh to apprehend the criminals involved in Canada calling based fraud.
The brief of the case are that PS- Cyber Crime had received a complaint of PS Chopra in which he reported that he received a call from Mobile No. +18134455760 and caller told him that his nephew Karan Arora who lives in Canada had a fight last night in a club and other person got grievous injury and if he want to be free from this case he had to pay 4000 Dollor ($).
Later he got a call from 8557915580 and who claimed himself as Advocate Jagmohan and said he had to pay money if he want to free his nephew. Then he transferred Rs. 240000/- through RTGS in bank account Number of SBI which was 41053923840 given by them. After that he came to know that he had been cheated.
During the course of investigation it came to light that fraudulent amount converted in Crypto Currency by using Binance Platform. On 17.09.2022 a raid was conducted at Dhampur Bijnor , UP and two Accused Vilal Ahmed S/o Abdul Sami R/o 65/2 Mahal Sarai, Pahadi Darwaja Dhampur Bijnor UP. 2). Shebi Khan S/o Mohamad Islam R/o Village Dhampur, Husainpur, Dhampur Bijnor UP were arrested from Dhampur, Bijnor, UP. Further the arrest of other co-accused is still pending.
With the arrest of these 2 cyber criminals, PS-Cyber Crime has arrested total 100 cyber criminals in 48 FIRs this year up from 36 last year.
