A woman namely 'K', student of a prestigious college of Delhi University, aged 19 years, lodged a complaint at Cyber North Police Station alleging therein that she was in online relationship with a boy named Tanzeem Ahmad, aged-22 years with whom she came into contact on Instagram in February, 2022. The girl was got impressed with his sketch art and his large number of followers on social media. Gradually she started chatting with him and after some time on the insistence of accused, shared her private pictures with him on Instagram. Few days ago, the complainant met the accused for the first time. During this meeting the complainant casually checked the mobile phone of the accused and found her nude pictures saved in phone Google drive.
The complainant also checked out obscene pictures and videos of other girls in his mobile phone. Realising this conduct of the accused, the complainant broke up relationship with him. However, the break up infuriated the accused and he made private pictures of girl viral on social media.
(SUBHEAD)On the basis of her complaint, a case vide FIR No. XXX/22 u/s 66E/67 IT Act rw 506 IPC was registered at PS Cyber North and investigation of the case was taken up by a team consisting of Inspr. Sandeep Srivastava, SI Guman, HC Sunita, HC Aadesh and HC Umesh, under the close supervision of Inspr. Pawan Tomar, SHO/PS Cyber North and guidance of Shri Dharmender Kumar, ACP/Operations North District.
Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North District, said, during the course of investigation, all possible information including details of social media accounts of the accused, were gathered from complainant. On the basis of technical investigation, the accused was identified as Mohd. Tanzeem Ahmad S/o Shakil Ahmad R/o Doranda, Manitola, Mustakim Gali, Ranchi, Jharkhand, aged-22 years and his location was zeroed in at Jama Masjid area and he was made to join investigation of the case. After his detailed interrogation, the accused was arrested on 21.09.2022. During investigation, SIM card and mobile phone used in the offence were recovered.
INTERROGATION: The interrogation of accused revealed that he used to lure innocent girls on Instagram as he had a good number of followers. Thereafter he would involve in online relationship with them and would insist on sharing their private pictures with him so that he could take advantage of them.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Mohd. Tanzeem Ahmad r/o Doranda, Manitola, Mustakim Gali, Ranchi, Jharkhand, aged-22 years. Qualified entrance examination of Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi and his admission in Graduation 1st year (Biotechnology) is under process. (His previous antecedents are being verified).
