The special operation “Ankush” launched by the North-East District is continued with the objective to curb Street and Organized Crime, to deter the criminals/anti-social elements and more importantly to enhance sense of safety among citizens.

As a part of intensive drive against drug paddlers, special vigil is being kept in the area of North-East District.

On 26.09.2022, information regarding bulk drug peddling in DDA Flats, Shastri Park, Delhi was received, the same was verified through reliable sources. A police team comprising SI Balbir, HC Vipin, HC Pavit, HC Amit and HC Deepak of AATS/NED and HC Vijay, HC Deepak, HC Sushil and W/Const. Kaushal under the supervision of ACP/Operations was assigned the task to carry out the raid.

(MOREPIC2)Through local intelligence, the police team identified concerned DDA Flat and knocked the door. One person later identified as Masoom Sheikh S/o Gohar Ali and brother of landlord, answered the knock. The police team introduced itself to them and informed the purpose of their arrival. Meantime, one lady, wife of landlord, present in the house, seeing the police party, immediately ran into a room and locked herself in the room and made a PCR Call.(SUBHEAD)

On lots of pursuance and intervention by the PCR, she opened the door and after following the due procedure of NDPS Act, search of the house was carried out in the presence of ACP/Operations.

As resultant of search, 20 packets of small pouches filled with brownish/creamish powder were recovered from one black polythene hidden in the room. On further count each packet was containing 100 small pouches aggregating to 2000 small pouches.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, said, after emptying all the pouches, weighing it on scale, total 618 Gms of psychotropic substance (smack) was recovered. Besides, 550 Gms. of packing material, comprising, plastics bags (2000 in number used to pack smacks in pouches) were recovered. On further search, one ‘lunch box bag’ containing cash Rs. 5, 87,000/- was also found. On asking, they could not reply the source of cash. On further examination, land lady revealed that the cash derived from the sale of the drugs is to be stored in this bag.

Their identities were established as Masoom Sheikh S/o Gohar Ali, Age 38-years and Ms. AAA W/o Md SSS Age- 35 years. On verification, the said house was found documentary owned by Mohd. Salauddin S/o Gohar Ali husband of the apprehended lady .

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 777/22 dated 27.09.22 u/s 21/25/29 NDPS Act& 34 IPC, PS Shastri Park, Delhi was registered and investigation taken up. Sincere efforts to arrest Mohd. Salahuddin and establish the sources of procurement of drugs are on. Further investigation in the case is under process.
