Weapon of offence one Sophisticated, Semi-Automatic Pistol, with marking engraved as ‘MADE IN ITALY’ loaded 5 live cartridges in its magazine and three motorcycles used in the commission of crime recovered.
On 26.09.2022 a PCR call regarding bullet injury to a person during robbery attempt by bikers near Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gate No. 2 was received at PS Nand Nagri, vide which the caller informed, that an unknown motorcyclist attempted robbery and escaped from the spot. Immediately a police team comprising SI Ankur Sharma and HC Vijay reached at the spot and found one Hero Splendour motorcycle No. DL-5SCQ-8049 and head of a fired bullet.
Meanwhile, SHO Nand Nagri, Insp. Randhir Singh along with staff also reached at the spot and contacted caller Narender S/o Chhatar Singh R/o Mandoli Harsh Vihar, Delhi Age-37 years who informed that the, injured had already been shifted to the GTB Hospital. SI Ankur Sharma reached in GTB hospital and examined, injured Himanshu S/o Kailash R/o Mandoli Harsh Vihar, Delhi Age-25 years.(SUBHEAD)
The injured was frequently changing his statement regarding the incident, and didn’t divulge anything specific. During interrogation, at one instance, he mentioned that he along with his friend Mohit, consumed alcohol at wine shop near GTB Enclave.
Smelling rat, SHO Nand Nagri promptly acted and formed a police team comprising SI Ankur Sharma, SI Bintu, SI Neeraj SI Gaurav, HC Subhash, Const. Kalik Tomar and Const. Paramjeet to unearth it. On verification of the CCTV footage of the cameras installed at the wine shop near GTB Enclave, the injured was not seen.
In the meantime, a person helping the injured at Hospital namely Mohit S/o Brhamprakash R/o Mandoli, Harsh Vihar was also interrogated. On sustained interrogation, it surfaced that Mohit and his brother Rohit are close friends of Himanshu.
On 26.09.2022 Himanshu had brought a pistol of his uncle Jeetu at Rohit’s house. When Rohit was fondling with the pistol, a bullet fired causing injury to Himanshu. When Mohit reached at his house, he found Himanshu injured. They all went to Kapoor Hospital for medical aid, but were denied for medical treatment as it was a medico legal case.
Thereafter, they informed Jeetu and Narender (Their uncle) regarding the incident. Jeetu, who is a desperate criminal, hatched up a plan to give it a color of robbery incident. They all reached, Tahirpur road, near peeli mitti ground on three motorcycles where, Jeetu fired 2 more shots in the air and Jeetu, Mohit and Rohit escaped from the spot. They left the Himanshu with one motorcycle and Narender made a fake PCR Call of gunshot injury, during attempt of robbery.
As planned, they washed the blood in their house, but crime team inspected the place of incident and recovered the exhibits.
On close inspection, blood was found at the above said bike No.-DL-5SCQ-8044 Hero Splendor which was used by the trio. On the information of Mohit a raid was conducted and Jeetu was apprehended from the area near his house while he was escaping on a motorcycle No. DL-5SAW-0918. On cursory check, one Sophisticated, Semi-Automatic Pistol, with marking engraved as ‘MADE IN ITALY’ loaded 5 live cartridges in its magazine was recovered from his conscious possession. On the instance of Mohit, his brother Rohit was also apprehended.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, IPS, DCP, said, on sustained interrogation it surfaced that Jitender @ Jeetu S/o Tejpal @ Pappu R/o Mohalla Sudamapuri, PS-Gulaothi, Bulandshahar, UP Age-37 years is a desperate criminal previously involved in more than 10 cases of snatching/theft. He is also a proclaimed offender in FIR No. 507/2010, PS-Anand Vihar vide order Dt-2/5/2019. He was also found involved in a murder case in UP.
Rohit S/o Bharmprakash R/o Mandoli, Harsh Vihar, Delhi Age-28 years is also found previously involved in FIR No-350/22 U/S-392/34 IPC PS-Seemapuri, Delhi.
Swift & prompt action, high presence of mind and true professional acumen shown by the SHO and staff of PS Nand Nagri lead to proper conclusion of PCR Call. Later, based on the jurisdictional circumstances, the matter was transferred to PS Harsh Vihar for registration of FIR and further investigation.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 548/2022 U/S-435/436/337/201/203/182/120B/34IPC & 25/27 Arms Act, PS Harsh Vihar, Delhi has been registered. Sincere efforts to establish the source of weapon are on. Further investigation in the case is under process.
