• PROJECT AIMED AT ENERGY SAVING & PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SELECTED RURAL DRINKING WATER PUMPING SYSTEM

In order to save energy and promote energy efficiency to address the climate change problem, Punjab Government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann has decided to install energy efficient pumpsets for rural drinking water supply in Amritsar district.
Disclosing this, Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Mr Aman Arora said that BEE star labelled energy efficient pumpsets will be installed for rural drinking water schemes in 23 villages of Verka and Attari block in Amritsar district.
The project is aimed at utilising the energy saving potential and performance evaluation of the selected water pumping system, Mr. Aman Arora said, adding that as per various studies, there is an energy saving potential of 20-25% by replacing existing old pumpsets with energy efficient pumpsets in rural drinking water pumping systems.(SUBHEAD)
He further informed that the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), the nodal agency for promotion and development of renewable energy programmes/projects and energy conservation programmes in the state, has invited e-tender for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of BEE star labelled energy efficient pumpsets of rural drinking water pumping system.
The interested companies can log on to the website eproc.punjab.gov.in for more details. The closing date of the e-tender is 20th October, 2022 (till 3 pm), he added.
