KARWA CHAUTH CELEBRATED IN ABOHAR

On Thursday, on the occasion of Karwa Chauth, married women observed a fast for the wellbeing of their beloved. They worshiped and prayed to God for eternal good fortune. A large number of women dressed up well for Karwa Chauth turned up to listen to the Katha.

Women traditionally performed the puja by singing Mangal songs and exchanging their puja utensils. They also took blessings from elderly women to remain Saubhagyavati. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the women regarding the fast.

Married women and many unmarried girls woke up in the morning at four o'clock in the morning and ate sarghi and after that they spent the day without water. After the moon rises in the night, duly worshiped and prayed for the long life of his sweetheart.

There was a lot of movement in the Sadar Bazar. Along with beauty parlours, shops of makeup and worship supplies attracted women. Many gathered at the roadside mehndi stalls. Neeru Dhawan, Deepika, Kajal, Anu Soni and Keerti Madaan said that there was a feeling of pride by keeping the Karwa Chauth fast.
