FOOD SAFETY TEAMS OF CHANDIGARH ADMIN STARTED CHECKING AND TAKING SAMPLES OF MILK PRODUCTS

Under the guidance of Adviser to the Administrator and Secretary Health, ahead of the festival season, the Food Safety Administration, Health Department, Chandigarh started extensive checking of the sweets manufacturing and selling units.

Five teams started checking and taking samples of the products made up of milk and milk products in various parts of the city. During the checking Food Business Operators were also advised to keep things in hygienic condition and not to indulge in any kind of illegal activity.

The food Safety Officer of the department during this festival season from 3rd October, 2022 till date raided sweet shops and sweets manufacturing units, seized 66 samples of products made of khoa and milk. 14 challans were also issued for violating norms of the Food Safety and Standards Regulations. The seized samples sent to the Food Analyst Lab for further analysis and examination.(SUBHEAD)

All manufacturers, sellers of sweets were advised not to indulge in any illegal activity. They were advised to Maintain proper hygiene, sanitation, use good quality raw material, permitted food colours and must have food license under the Food Safety Act. No food business is allowed to manufacture/ sell/ store/distribute any food article without having Food License, stern legal action would be initiated if found not complying with law.
