SSP Mohali Viveksheel Soni (IPS) informed media that team of Mohali Police consisting of SP (City) Sh. Akashdeep Singh Aulakh, DSP (City-1 Mohali Sh Harinder Singh Mann, SHO Matour Insp. Naveenpal Singh,SHO Airport Insp Gabbar Singh & HC Lakhwinder Singh investigated FIR no 91 dated 20.08.2022 and traced a gang of house thieves with the help of technical input, human input and CCTV footages. Team has succeeded in apprehending the accused and traced 3 incidents of house breaking and one attempt and recovered stolen jewelry and other items.
Accused (who used to break houses): Shyam Mandal s/o Kishan Mandal r/o Dhoi PS sadar Darbhanga, Bihar, Amit Dubey s/o Rajwinder Dubey r/o Harpur PS Mhamadpur Distt Goplaganj
Accused (who used to purchase stolen items) : Santosh Kumar s/o Joginder Shah r/o Darbhanga, Bihar, Lallan Prasad s/o Shiv Shanker Shah r/o Darbhanga, Bihar and Ajay Mahipal s/o Satya Narain Mahipal r/o Darbhanga, Bihar
MODUS OPERANDI: The accused used to identify locked houses without cctv cameras during day and after doing recce used to commit burglary during night. The accused used to leave for their native state Bihar after committing 3-4 thefts to avoid detection.(SUBHEAD)
