National Cadet Core (NCC) is celebrating Platinum Jubilee of its raising on 27 November 22. A number of activities at all India level are being planned by all state NCC directorates.
The Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh NCC Directorate is organising a Platinum Jubilee half marathon on 27 November 22 at Chandigarh club. There will be three runs of 21 km, 10 km, 5 kms, within 4 age categories of 18 to 35 years, 36 to 50 years, 51 to 65 years and 65 years and above. Cash prizes up to rupees 1 lakh will be given to the winners in each category.
Chandigarh Distance Runners (CDR) is running partner for this event while runners from nearby places like Patiala Jalandhar and Ambala have been invited for the run. Shri Amar Singh Chauhan who has recently won 100th gold medal in running and fondly called as *”Golden Sikh”* by the running community will grace the occasion to motivate young NCC cadets to take up running as a sport for keeping fit and healthy.
The event is being conducted by 10 Chandigarh Battalion NCC under the leadership of Colonel Umakant Sharma.
