The team of Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh under the supervision of DSP. Palak Goel, D.A.N.I.PS, S.D.P.O/East Dub Division Chandigarh & the directions of Inspector Maninder Singh S.H.O/P.S Sector-26, Chandigarh achieved major success by working out a sensational case of Murder of a young girl by arresting accused Jagroop Singh S/o Late Charanjit Singh R/o Vill-Sherpur Distt-Hoshiarpur PB Age-24 years from nearby GMCH-32,Chandigarh. The case FIR No. 141 dated 31.10.2022 U/s 302-IPC was registered by Police Station Sector 26.
This case was registered on the complaint of Sh Kulbir Ram S/o Sh Sees Ram R/o Vill-Sagar Pur Distt-Jalandhar, PB. He reported that on 28.10.2022, his brother Balvinder Singh told him that he received a telephonic message from Chandigarh Police that dead body of his daughter Anjli Age-21 years has been found backside of Lake in a Jungle area of Chandigarh.
On this, he along with his brother visited Chandigarh and identified the body lying in Freezer GMSH-16, Chandigarh. After conducting the postmortem of Anjli, her creamanation was done at his native address. Postmartem report revealed that the death occurred due to strangulation. Further family of deceased told that his daughter had relations with one Jagroop Singh of village Sherpur,Punjab.
Further, by analysis the social media cells records of the deceased, evidence found at the crime spot and through secret sources ,it was further confirmed that she was in a relationship with Jagroop Singh and may have travel with her to Chandigarh.(SUBHEAD)
MODUS OPERANDI : Accused Jagroop Singh had illicit relations with deceased Anjli and she wanted to marry Jagroop Singh but alleged denied the proposal of deceased, on which feeling pressure,Jagroop decided to eliminate Anjli and on 27.10.2022 reached Chandigarh at ISBT Sector-43,Chandigarh further hired an auto rickshaw to reach Sukhna Lake. At night, they went inside the Jungle Area near Garden of Silence and he strangulated Ms.Anjli, leading her to death and he again returned back to his native address Hoshiarpur (PB).
