The Gaushala Managing Committee organized a function on the occasion of the auspicious day of Gopashtami in which Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Ashok Kumar Singla participated as the chief guest.
Singla, along with MLA Sandeep Jakhar and other special guests performed Gau puja. He said that cows have been given the status of mother in Hinduism. It is our moral duty to protect and serve the cow. Cows should not be left in the open, they need to be accommodated in the gaushala.
Singla said he had never seen such wonderful management before. The state government would also try to provide as much support to this gaushala as possible so that further development could take place.
Legislator Sandeep Jakhar said the century-old gaushala here can be considered as a role model for other cities in the state, there has been a lot of expansion and development in a fair manner. He urged the state govt to take result-oriented steps to tackle the stray animals menace that had taken many lives here also besides making hundreds of people physically disabled across the state.
