UP Yoddhas, the GMR owned franchisee representing the state of Uttar Pradesh, aim toconsolidate their position in the points table as they gear up to face an in-form Puneri Paltansin match number 58 of Season Nine of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, here in Balewadi.

Puneri Paltans are currently second in the standings while the UP Yoddhas are in ninth, having played a game less than the local side. The match will broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed LIVE on Disney Hotstar from 09:30 p.m. (IST) onwards on Friday, November 04, 2022.

The head-to-head favour the UP Yoddhas as they have won five of their eight encounters so far, but the Puneri Paltans go into the match having not lost in their previous five games and having won four of them. The two met last in Eliminator 1 of the previous season which the UP Yoddhas easily won 42-31.
The defense which has been sucha strength of the UP Yoddhas in the overall context of PKL history, did begin their present campaign a tad off the pace but have picked up steadily ever since. Pardeep Narwal, their star raider, has also now earned three Super 10s in the last five matches and is looking more dangerous for his opponents with every passing game.

Surender Gill is also now in brilliant form with as many asfour Super 10s in the ongoing league seasonand must be looking to make it even better. On the other hand, Ashu Singh on the right corner with three Super Tackles and two High Fives has also been impressive with able support coming from Sumit, who mans the left corner.

“Despite of the results, we as a team have displayed our true mettle in PKL time and again and we will work hard to better our position in the league standings. Puneri Paltan are a strong side and we have to be at our best to emerge victorious. I am much grateful of our supporters, fans and most importantly, the GMR family who have backed us enormously and put a lot of faith in us,” signed off Jasveer Singh, Head Coach, UP Yoddhas.
