Cyber Swachhta Mission is part of Chandigarh Police’s community outreach initiative to inculcate Cyber Hygiene among citizens and spread cyber awareness primarily through engagement of youth. It isa kind of unique and creative collaboration among police, academia, technical industry and community so as to make Cyber Awareness a Jan Andolan. Students from reputed colleges/universities of Chandigarh are enrolled as Cyber Soldiers, who are trained in cyber security and cyber awareness by cyber experts and police officials as part of Internship Programme under the mission.
It is a way for students to gain valuable experience in law enforcement by involving them in creation of a healthy, positive and hygieniccyber space. It was launched on 17th November 2021 with enrollment of 300 students of various colleges as Cyber Interns. After the successfully completion of 1st batch, Chandigarh Police started 2nd Batch of Cyber Internship with the enrollment of about 350 students.
(SUBHEAD)As part of Chandigarh Police Week celebration, an awareness/training session was held at Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines Sector 26 Chandigarh on 06th November, 2022, which was attended by about 150 students alongwith their college faculties of 11 different colleges.
A training- cum- awareness lecture was delivered by National Cyber Expert Mr. Sh. Rakshit Tandon, Director/Founder of Hacker Shala and the cyber interns were made aware about Cyber Hygiene & latest cyber trends i.e. online games, social media, financial frauds, nuisance topics etc. Furthermore, 11 cyber interns who are doing best in this Internship programme and taking actively participate in all activity, were awarded appreciation certificate.
