SPECIAL SUMMARY REVISION OF THE PHOTO ELECTORAL ROLL, 2023 BEGIN

As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the Special Summary Revision of the Photo Electoral Roll, 2023, has begun from the 9th of November, 2022.

As part of SSR-2023, Dr Vijay N Zade, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, U.T., Chandigarh, visited a few of the polling station locations that had the lowest turnout in the last General Election in 2019 as well as the MC election in 2021 and also reviewed the progress of SSR-2023. The Chief Electoral Officer has directed AEROs and BLOs to motivate and encourage electors to participate in the electoral process, as well as to identify and enroll young residents as voters.

Additionally, colleges and schools have been directed to encourage young voters to enroll. Furthermore, the Worthy Chief Electoral Officer has urged residents of U.T., Chandigarh, to check their names in the electoral roll on the special campaign dates of 19th and 20th of November, 2022, at their respective polling station locations. Residents of U.T., Chandigarh, can also apply if they are not on the electoral roll or if their entries need to be corrected. They can also visit and meet the BLOs on the above-mentioned campaign dates.
