Chandigarh police achieved a major success when the police team of Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh under the supervision of Ms Palak Goel, D.A.N.I.P.S, DSP/East Sub Division Chandigarh & on the directions of Inspector Maninder Singh S.H.O/P.S Sector-26, Chandigarh apprehended accused Ankush S/o Dara Singh R/o House No. 561, Milk Colony, Dhanas Age-29 years & Amit Singh Gill S/o Sh Ravinder Singh R/o Vill-Jhanpur, Distt-Mohali PB Age-25 years and worked out a Case FIR No 149 Dt 23.11.22 u/s 379 added 411-IPC PS-26, Chd
Police said, Ramesh Kumar S/o Satpal R/o House No. 481 Smadhi Gate Manimajra Chandigarh reported that on 23.11.2022 at 5:50 PM, while he was checking the roof top of SCO No.32 Sec 26 he found that two youngsters coming down from stairs having plastic bag in their hands, On checking Two silver coils were found in one bag & One Compressor was found other plastic bag.
Accused Ankush was arrested on 23.11.2022. His one day police remand was obtained from court. On his in-stance, co-accused Amit Singh Gill was arrested on 24.11.2022
During interrogation accused Ankush disclosed that he has also stolen Video & Still Camera from a car while it was parked near Light Point Sector-19/27 towards Sector-27, Chandigarh.(SUBHEAD)
In this regard, a case FIR No. 109 dated 21.8.22 U/s 379-IPC has already been registered in PS-26, Chd. They further disclosed that they both committed theft aqt SCO No. 38, ist Floor, sector-26, Chd where they both have stolen Taps etc. in this regard another case FIR No. 128 dt 26.9.22 U/s 457,380-IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chd. Accused will be arrested in these cases after obtaining permission from court accordingly.
MODUS OPERANDI: Both accused are habitual drug addict and to fill their drug desire, they are committing thefts in those house where number of news papers are lying in court yard and are locked since long. They both operated thefts in day time.
