A special program was organized in Ward No. 23 by the Municipal Corporation under the “Mera Shehar, Mera Mann” programme of the state govt. Apart from councilor Narinder Verma, Harinder Bedi, husband of neighboring ward councilor Renu Bedi, Swachh Bharat Mission officer Manish Kumar, chief sanitation inspector Satish Kumar and other staff of the MC were present on the occasion.

(MOREPIC1) Apart from the councilors, Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh planted ornamental and flowering plants in the Kalpana Chawla Park located between Street No. 5 and 6 in Nai Abadi area. The residents of the locality also thanked Mayor Vimal Thatai for this gift of the corporation.

People assured that the Abohar Municipal Corporation, which has secured first position among the corporations across the state, will provide full cooperation at its level to get first position among all the local bodies in the next cleanliness survey and improve the national ranking. The residents said that they are proud that no other locality in the city has two parks side by side.

The park, which has been developed with the help of MLA Sandeep Jakhar and other volunteers of “Apna Abohar, Apni Abha”, used to be in ruins and the residents had to bear the orgy of destitute animals, now they have got freedom from this curse and in the coming times, the new park will be beautifully developed. New dimensions can be expected to be established, Raj Sadosh said.
