In a major breakthrough the team of ANTF (Crime Branch) under the supervision of Insp. SatvinderSingh has arrested a drug peddler who supplies drug to University’s and Colleges’ students in Chandigarh, namely Tanuj Garg (23) resident of 296, Sector-51A, Chandigarh.
Police said on Saturday a Police party headed by SI Sumer Singh under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector-49, Chandigarh and when the team reached near green belt park T point A/B, Sector-51, Chandigarh, one person was apprehended on the basis of suspicious, who disclosed his name as Tanuj Garg Singh and 110 gram Charas was recovered from his possession.Consequently, Case FIR No. 74 Dt. 3.12.2022 U/s 20 NDPS Act, PS-49, UT Chandigarhregistered against drug peddler Tanuj Garg.
MODUS OPERANDI: Accused is very clever and he is himself a MBA 1st year student. He makes contacts with newly comer students and traps the gullible students in Panjab University and Colleges and sells drugs to them. From the interrogation so far, he revealed the name of paddlers who are selling drugs and targeting students.
Accused Tanuj Garg is being produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand will be obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity by arrested accused. A thorough interrogation and investigation will be done.
