MOUNT CARMELITES CELEBRATED 35TH ANNUAL DAY-CUM-FOUNDERS DAY

The 35th Founders' Week Celebration, the Annual Day Function of Classes 3 to 5 of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh was held at Tagore Theatre here on Saturday under the aegis of Founders and Directors of Mount Carmel School, Dr. Annie Charles Samuel and Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel. The theme of the function was 'One World – One Hope'. It was a moment of pride and joy for the school as it celebrated the function with great zeal and enthusiasm post pandemic.

The event started with Scripture Reading, followed by welcoming the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur, Mayor of Chandigarh, and other dignitaries through a refreshing welcome dance. The students participated in Barn Dance, Salakot Dance, Gypsy Dance, Philippine Dance, and K Pop Dance. A lovely medley of songs was presented by the Junior Choir of the school, and the Finale, entitled 'Children – The Hope of the World' perfectly concluded the event.

(MOREPIC3)(SUBHEAD)  The Chief Guest, Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur felicitated the Prize Winners under three Categories: Best All Round Student of the Class for the year 2021-22, shining stars and rolling trophies for the current Session, including the Best Dressed Class, Most Disciplined Class and Best Kept Class and the prestigious Jonathan Ivan Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student in cultural activites (Juniors).

The Chief Guest was full of praise for the juniors for presenting mesmerizing performances and lauded the school, students, their parents and staff for working towards zero tolerance to single use plastic in school and at homes, creating an awareness among the students in safeguarding the future. She reminded theaudience to avoid the use of plastic in day-to-day affairs and switch to using jute bags and cloth bags as much as possible. The Founders and Directors, Dr Earnest Charles J Samuel and Dr Annie Charles appreciated the efforts of the participants and emphasised on the importance of extra curricular activities in the lives of young students which will lend to their holistic development. The function ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.

The Principal, Dr Parveena John Singh thanked the Chief Guest, all the dignitaries and parents for being present throughout the Function to motivate the junior students, all the participants and staff for putting up a beautiful and enthusiastic show. She encouraged the students to extend their milestones in the journey of their success.
