The team of Police Station -19, Chandigarh under the leadership of Ms. Palak Goel, DSP/East UT, Chandigarh and supervision of Insp. Mini Bhardwaj, SHO PS-19, Chandigarh achieved a major success by apprehended two snatchers namely Ajay Kumar S/o Mangat Ram R/o H. No. 1476 Sector-22 B Chandigarh Age-36 years and Ankit Chandan S/o Sh. Anil Chandan R/o H.No. 2586, Sector 22 C, Chandigarh.
The snatched property purse containing mobile phone, copy of Aadhar car, copy of PAN card, and copy of bank account pass book and cash have been recovered from them.
The alleged Activa bearing no. CH03U-0861 (registered in the name of Mangat Ram father of accused Ajay Kumar) used by above snatchers to commit the crime has also been recovered and taken into the police possession.(SUBHEAD)
On 04.12.2022, complainant Mrs. Babita W/o Lt. Sh. Harjeet Singh R/o H. NO. 701 Sector 45 Burail Chandigarh age 39 Years reported that on 03.12.2022 at about 7:40 PM she was going to sector 22 on foot and when she reached infront of Baba dairy Sector 21 Chandigarh, in the meantime two Activa rider came from behind and snatched her purse containing mobile phone make Redmi, copy of Aadhar car, copy of PAN card, copy of bank account pass book and cash . They both fled away after snatching her purse on their Activa. In this regard, case FIR No. 73 dated05.12.2022 U/s 379-A IPC was registered at PS-19, Chandigarh.
During the course of investigation, on the instance of secret information, a Naka has been deployed near CD Turn Sector-21 Chandigarh and the above accused persons involved in the said crime namely Ajay Kumar and Ankit Chandan have been arrested along with Activa bearing number CH03U-0861 used in snatching. Both the accused are drug addict and more recovery can be affected.
