Spreading the message of compassion and social inclusion, the Character Building Committee and Swachhta Committee (Arts) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a donation drive of woollen clothes.

The woollens donated by the staff and students of the college were distributed among the underprivileged citizens, thereby giving them the gift of warmth in this biting cold. The student ambassadors got the opportunity to step out of their cocoons and perceive the difficulties faced by the less privileged sections of the society.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this social responsibility initiative that sought to help the needy fight the cold conditions and inculcate in students a sense of empathy and compassion towards them. She said that besides providing quality education, the college lays emphasis on instilling humanitarian values in students and shaping them into conscious citizens.
