Chandigarh Police achieved a major success by arresting a supplier of illicit liquor namely Anmol Godara S/o Mahender Kumar R/o Village- Shergarh Dabwali Sirsa (HR) age- 24 yrs. and recovered 405 Boxes of various brand illicit liquor form the possession of accused in Truck No. HR 56 B 8214 Eicher from road in front of plot no. 96/97, Ph-II, Ind. Area Sector-31 Chandigarh. A case FIR No 06 dt 06.01.2023 U/s 420, 120B IPC & 61-1-14 Excise Act PS- 31 has been registered against the accused.
As per the directions of Senior Officers, a team headed by I/C DCC under the supervision of DSP/DCC has been constituted to nab the supplier of illicit liquor. From the information of reliable source, during intervening night 05/06.01.2023 a naka has been laid on road in front of plot no. 96/97, Ph-II, Ind. Area Sector-31 Chandigarh by the team.(SUBHEAD)
At about 12.05 AM, one truck No. HR 56 B 8214 was seeing come towards police party and with the help of torch light, Police Party gave a signal to stop the truck. Then the driver of truck stopped and he was apprehended with the help of police officials.
On the checking found that truck was loaded with the illicit liquor under a layer of rice of rice straw in the truck body and after counting recovered 405 boxes (4860 bottles each 750ml) of various brand illicit liquor as well as accused has been arrested.
During preliminary interrogation accused disclosed that he supplied the illicit liquor at Gujarat and this round is his third. It also came to notice that a dealer of liquor from Chandigarh is involved in this nexus.
