On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the 100th camp of Apna Abohar Apni Abha Abhiyan was organized at Gaushala situated on the Old Fazilka Road.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar was joined by Mayor Vimal Thatai, Sanjay Jakhar, Councilors Mangat Rai Bathla, Puneet Arora Sonu, Mehar Chand Taneja, Satyavan Shakya and Narinder Verma, project in-charge Kamal Kishore Khurana and others in the camp. Appreciating their cooperation, Gaushala president Fakir Chand Goyal and Secretary Rakesh Kalani said that by serving Gau Mata on such a holy festival, these residents of the city will surely become partakers of virtue.

The volunteers removed cow dung and other garbage from the cow shed and also cleaned the troughs made for their food and fed them green fodder and jaggery. Tractors were also used for this work. Jakhar said that the aim of the campaign is to create awareness about cleanliness among the people. He appreciated the enthusiasm and hard work of the workers.

Mayor Vimal Thatai said that 5 years ago, Abohar was declared as the worst city in terms of cleanliness, but now as a result of Apna Abohar Apni Abha Abhiyan, the rank of this city has increased to 165 with public cooperation. It is expected that if people continue to cooperate, then the resolve to increase the aura of this city will definitely come true in the coming years.
