Keeping in mind the harsh winter, these days some social organizations are engaged in public service at their respective levels, so that the resourceless sections of the society can get some relief from the cold. A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) -Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation held a 'Bhandara' or Community Kitchen in the Industrial Area with the aim of helping the daily wage laborers and families living in slums.

The social and charitable organization held its 43rd Bhandara at Industrial Area, Phase 2, Panchkula, in which food was distributed to the needy people. Hundreds of people reached near the Bhandara mobile van and had a square meal and also took food packets for their families. Kadhi, rice, roti and potato-gram curry were served in the meal.

Amitabh Rungta, founder of the NGO, arrived with his family to do the work of distribution of food. On this occasion, he said that every week a Bhandara is organized by Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation in public interest. Many volunteers associated with the Foundation actively participated in this work of charity.
