74TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED AT GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

74th Republic Day celebrations were held at Government College of Education; Sector 20 D, here today. As per the tradition of the college, the oldest serving employee in the order, Mrs. Ambika Sethi was the Chief Guest of the day and hoisted the National Flag.

Principal of the college Dr. Mrs. Sapna Nanda in her speech congratulated all present on the occasion and highlighted the significance of the day. She highlighted the roles of teachers, farmers, Doctors and Scientists whose combined efforts contribute to the development of the nation. She further added that so far our country has lived upto the spirit of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan & Jai Anusandhan”.

(SUBHEAD)India succeeded as a democratic republic to become the largest democracy in the world because our nation firmly believes in “unity in diversity”. She also emphasized on the significance of G20 Summit 2023 which is an ideal forum to discuss and find solutions to the global challenges whereby India puts forth the value of Peace and Prosperity for equitable and sustainable world order. She also reiterated that India is moving at a very fast pace to make its place in the global scenario which is a matter of pride for all of us.

Students presented patriotic songs and sweets were distributed on this occasion. The function was conducted by staff secretary Dr. Lilu Ram and was largely attended by the faculty, office and administrative staff of the college. The function concluded with the National Anthem.
