VIGILANCE BUREAU ARRESTS PATWARI FOR FORGED MUTATION AND TAKING BRIBE RS 15,000

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), during its ongoing campaign against corruption, has arrested a revenue Patwari Balwinder Singh, posted in revenue halqua Jalalbad, tehsil Khadoor Sahib, Tarntaran district for taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 and registering a forged mutation of agricultural land.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the VB said on the basis of a vigilance enquiry, the Bureau has conducted an investigation regarding mutation and division of an agricultural land belonging to the complainant Barjinder Singh, and his brother Harjinder Singh, of village Khabbey Dogran, district Tarntaran.

It has came to light that the above said revenue official had received Rs 15,000 from the brother of complainant through Balwinder Singh, former Sarpanch of village Khabbey Dogran, for executing division and mutation of their ancestral land.

In this regard a case under sections 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act and under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, of IPC at VB police station, Amritsar. Further investigation in this case was under progress, he informed.
