In a major breakthrough the team of ANTF (Anti Narcotic Task Force) under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh is able to bust the chain of drug peddler by arresting the drug paddlers Kan Singh from Jaipur, Rajasthan(Main Supplier) and Mangta from MouliJagran(Local peddler) on the instance of Gurpreet Singh (Conductor) and Jaswant Singh (Driver) respectively. With the arrest of Kan Singh Purawat 100 kg Poppy Husk (commercial quantity) and 10 kg Poppy Husk from Mangta was recovered by the team of ANTF.
The accused identified as Kan Singh Purawat R/o Makkariya, Khachrol, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Age 35 and Mangta R/o # 2744 Vikash Nagar, MauliJagran, U.T, Chandigarh. Aged 51 years.
Brief Fact
On 3.2.2023a Police party headed by SI Gurjiwan arrested Gurpreet Singh and Jaswant Singh and recovered 60 kg Poppy Husk from their possession. Consequently, Case FIR No. 60 Dt 3.2.2023 U/s 15 NDPS Act, PS-36, UT Chandigarh registered against them. They were produced in the court and 4 days police remand was obtained.(SUBHEAD)
During police remand a raid was carried out inJaipur alongwith the accused and on identification of accused Gurpreet, the main supplier of Poppy Husk namely Kan Singh Purawat was arrested from near royal Eye hospital Burfkhana chowk Jawahar Nager Jaipur, Rajasthan and 100 kg poppy husk was recovered from his possession.
On the other hand accused Mangta, who purchased the drug from Gurpreet Singh and Jaswant Singh and sold the drug in retail to the local customers was also arrested from his houseMouliJagran, Chandigarh,with his arrest 10 kg poppy husk was also recovered from his possession. Section 29 of NDPS Act was added in the present case.
Modus Operandi : Kan Singh Purawatworked atLicensed shop of Poppy Husk since 2015. After the ban of licensed shop he started sellingpoppy husk illegally. He used to sell poppy husk to drivers of Punjab mostly. Accused Jaswant Singh and Gurpreet Singh are among of them.
Accused Kan Singh Purawat and Mangta were produced before the Hon’ble District Court and their police remand was obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drug. A thorough interrogation and investigation will be done.
