ASI Balkar Singh posted at Manimajra police station reportedly caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 on Wednesday. ASI Balkar Singh was demanding Rs 50,000 in the name of getting the removal of name in the lover in case who was out on bail in case of his girlfriend forcing him to commit suicide. On the complaint of Gurpreet, the CBI registered a case against ASI Balkar under sections of corruption and arrested him.
Complainant Gurpreet, a resident of Samadhi Gate, gave a complaint to the CBI that on December 21, Preet had committed suicide by hanging herself in Darshan Bagh. On December 24, the Manimajra police station registered a case of abetment of suicide against him and arrested him. He got bail a few days back.
Investigating Officer ASI Balkar Singh called him and demanded Rs 50,000 in the name of getting him out of the case. ASI Balkar said that if he does not give the money, concrete evidence will be presented against him. After receiving the complaint, the CBI asked Gurpreet Singh to call up ASI Balkar and inquire about the place of payment of the first installment of the bribe.
The ASI called Gurpreet to his room at Manimajra Police Station after taking the money. The CBI laid a trap at Manimajra Police Station. Gurpreet gave 25 thousand cash to ASI Balkar and CBI team arrested him red handed.
