With the aim of making Abohar a clean and green city, a campaign was launched by MLA Sandeep Jakhar under the title of Apna Abohar Apni Abha. Its team conducted a cleanliness drive in the main Shivbhumi located in Indra Nagri on Saturday ahead of Maha Shivratri festival.

(MOREPIC1)  The volunteers cleaned and polished the idols, dusted the lawns and removed garbage. Today’s camp incharge Sanjay Jakhar said that with the cooperation of the residents in this campaign, Abohar's name has been removed from dirty cities list.

There has been a lot of improvement across the city in terms of cleanliness, but something more needs to be done. This, he said, will be possible only with the cooperation of the people. They will have to completely stop using single-use plastic so that the city's cleanliness and sewerage system can be run effectively. It is our own responsibility to maintain the environment, it is our moral duty to keep it clean in any condition, he added.
