THREATENS TO TAKE OUT PROCESSIONS ON FEB 20 AND GHERAO CM HOUSE ON MAR 1

Face2News/Chandigarh

The Sarpanch Association of Haryana, while objecting to the requirement of family identity cards and e-tendering, said here today that these things are causing problems to the people of the state. President of the Sarpanch Association of Haryana, Ranbir Samain said that the Right to Recall rule must apply to the MPs and MLAs first and not only to the sarpanchs.

Addressing a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club, Ranbir Samain said that he has demanded to the government that all the 29 rights to the village panchayats mentioned in the 11th schedule of the Constitution should be given to us. With the abolition of the rights of the Gram Sabha, the importance of the Panchayats will lose value. That's why the contractual practice should not be implemented again.

The Sarpanch Association has announced to take out processions at various places in Haryana on February 20 in support of their demands. The leaders also said that if the demands were not accepted till February 21 and the issues were not discussed in the Vidhan Sabha, the association will take stern steps and will gherao the CM’s House on March 1.

Santosh Beniwal (Vice President), Isham Singh (General Secretary), Ashish, Ravinder Kajal (Press Spokesperson), Rakesh (IT Cell Head), Sandeep Gulia (Member), and Narendra Kadyan (Secretary) were also present in the conference.(SUBHEAD)

Ranbir Samain said that the rule of online attendance of MGNREGA is also creating problems because in many places the network does not support causing problems in attendance. 90 MLAs of the state are elected mostly by the rural votes, but they remain absent when the villagers need them.

The association threatened that the MLAs who are ignoring their constituencies will not be allowed to enter the villages and such MLAs will be completely boycotted. If the demands of the association are not accepted, then the upcoming elections will also be opposed. It was said unanimously in the meeting that the government should give back the rights of the Sarpanchs.
