Former Chairman of State Farmers Commission Punjab Ajay Vir Jakhar said that IFFCO is doing good work in the interest of farmers. IFFCO should make farmers aware about the pros and cons of Urea and Nano urea. At the same time, farmers should be made aware about its effect on orchards. He was addressing the farmers in a seminar organized on the use of Nano urea liquid and maintenance of orchards at Surinder Jakhar IFFCO Trust, Maujgarh. Jaiveer Jakhar was also present on the occasion.

Ajay Vir Jakhar said that the governments are making continuous efforts for the welfare of the farmers. Apart from a subsidy of Rs 18,500 per acre on paddy, Rs 13,500 per acre on Kinnow, Punjab is providing free electricity to farmers. Surinder Jakhar IFFCO Trust will organize a seminar in Raisinghnagar next month, in which the experience of the farmers will also be shared.(SUBHEAD)

IFFCO's State Marketing Manager Harmel Singh Sidhu said that unnecessary use of fertilizers continues in the fields. The use of urea is especially increasing. With this, farmers might have increased the production but air, soil and water get polluted. People's problems have increased due to taking more crops.

Therefore, the use of fertilizers in the fields should be reduced. With this perspective, the government entrusted the task of researching Nano urea liquid to IFFCO. In 2019, liquid urea was prepared with nanotechnology and after its recognition in 2021, it could be used in the fields. It is being seen as an alternative to urea.

This will reduce the expenses and the environment will become safe. He said that it is a matter of pride that till now fertilizers had been imported in the country but this is the first time that IFFCO has exported Nano Urea liquid. In view of this, the work of making DAP, Potash and other fertilizers available in Nano nature is going on. He cleared the misconceptions of the farmers regarding Nano Urea liquid.
