MCM WINS LAURELS FOR VIDEO ON 'SKILL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP'

Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, earned recognition from Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Education, Government of India, for a video on 'Skill and Entrepreneurship' and for promoting student self-help groups. The video showcases the initiatives undertaken by the college to equip students with entrepreneurship skills and to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among them.

Through interviews of 3 student entrepreneurs- Ms. Tavishi (Founder, ShriShiksha), Ms. Kajal Dubey (Founder, Our Virtual Solution) and Ms. Shruti (Owner, Smriti- A Sweet Memory), the video showcases their entrepreneurial journeys and the role the college played in empowering them to be entrepreneurs. Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed gratitude to the Ministry for this recognition.(SUBHEAD)

She added that through its Institution Innovation Council and Start-Up Cell, the college strives to develop students' entrepreneurial spirit and abilities, and informed that the college even provides funding for students' ventures.

Dr. Bhargava appreciated the concerted efforts made by Dr. Preeti Gambhir, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication in creating this video and also admired Dr. Vandana Sharma, MGNCRE Nodal Officer for her efforts in the direction of realisation of MGNCRE's objective to promote resilient rural India through Higher Education interventions.
