DRUNKEN DRIVING: ON HOLI FESTIVAL 60 BOOKED FOR DRUNKEN DRIVING, 12 CONVICTED, FINE OF 10 K EACH

LICENSES SUSPENDED FOR SIX MONTHS

Continuing its efforts to curb drunken driving on the roads of City Beautiful in  Chandigarh on 08.03.22 during Holi festival total 60 persons were booked for drunken drive and challans were dispatched to court for further disposal. On 09.03.2023, twelve 12 persons appear before the court and convicted for drunken drive for fine Rs 10,000/- each with TRC (Till Rising the Court) and their licenses have also been suspended for six months by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate UT. Chandigarh total compounding fees Rs 1,20,000/- imposed, TRC and driving licenses have also been suspended for
six months.

Furthermore the drive against drunken driving will continue in future for the safety and benefit of public in general on road.
