An impressive program was organized today at Bhag Singh Khalsa College for Women Kala Tibba Abohar as part of a special awareness campaign being conducted by the Punjab State Legal Services Authority with the aim of making women aware of their legal rights.
The event was specially attended by Santosh Snehi Mann, Member Secretary, National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi. She inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic in the college. Jatinder Kaur, Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the seminar, Santosh Snehi Mann said that the awareness campaign is an important tool to make women aware of their rights and legal awareness for women empowerment. Many efforts are being made by the National Legal Services Authority to make women aware of their rights and to provide legal services to them.
Arun Gupta, Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority SAS Nagar informed about the provisions regarding legal services contained in the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987. SAS Nagar CJM Balwinder Singh Mann, Fazilka District Legal Authority member secretary Amandeep Singh also spoke on the occasion.
College Principal Dr. Harpreet Kaur presented mementos to the distinguished guests.
