The Team of Crime Branch under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh with the close guidance of Sh. Rajnish, DSP Crime got a major success in apprehending the Aashish Lohani, who involved in the murder of his wife Crystal Lohani both were Nepalese.
On 10.3.2023 it is reported that a girl was murdered by slitting her throat in the Kamron Hotel at Kishangarh, Chandigarh. The team of Crime Branch immediately reached at the spot and facts were verified. Preliminary, from hotel’s record and CCTV cameras, it was established that Aashish Lohani was involved in this murder as Aashish Lohani and his wife Crystal both checked into the Hotel.
The 3 teams of Crime Branch were constituted under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh, which conducted raids at the different locations.
On Saturday Aashish Lohani was arrested from Maloya road, near Ziri Mandi Chowk, as the team was chasing the threads. In order to escape from police he changed his appearance and got a haircut and shaved himself cleanly. After that he went to Mohali and Ludhiana.
When she did not forgive him after persuading his best and tried to leave, on this there was a strong altercation between them which ended with the murder of Crystal as he pulled out a knife and stabbed her twice in the neck. When she fainted, he hugged & kissed her, took her photograph in his phone, took a shower and left the Hotel.
Today, team of Crime Branch received information that the said accused would go to Badmajra on his previous address for taking his passbook and ATM Card. On this information team of Crime Branch laid Naka near Ziri Mandi Chowk, Chandigarh and apprehended the accused.
MOTIVE BEHIND MURDER: From the preliminary interrogation, it came on record that the deceased original name is Crystal Lohani who was wife of Aashish Lohani. Both came in India 5 months back and stayed at the different places i.e. Ludhiana, Bar Majra, and presently residing in Pipliwala Town, Manimajra.
Crystal Lohali was an orphan and she was raised by Sh. Jaya Ram Lohani father of Aashish Lohani in Kathmandu, Nepal. Aashish Lohani and Crystal Lohali fell in the love with each other and ran away from the parental house as well as started living at Kathmandu separately from their family, where they got married.
They came to India from Nepal 5 months back. Ashish Lohani started working in Para Night Club Ph.1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh and Crystal started working at The Real Spa, Sector 26, Chandigarh and started living in Pipliwala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh, where Aashish Lohani eloped with another girl, aged about 18 years, who was residing at rent on the ground floor in the same building.
When they were trying to flee to Nepal, were got apprehended at Gorakhpur by police. He came back to Chandigarh, but Crystal has already left the house where they both used to live. He tried his best to find her.
On 8.3.2023 Crystal met him alongwith her new boyfriend, she told that she did not want to continue her relationship with the accused and the both beat him up. Accused apologised from Crystal for his mistake. Then he alongwith Crystal went to Kamron Hotel, Kishangarh. Where he tried his best to persuade Crystal, but she refused to live with him. A day before murder, Aashish purchased a kitchen knife from the market as he already planned to kill her.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED.: Aashish Lohani S/o Sh. Jaya Ram Lohani r/o Vill. Bhartipur, Attrauli-5, Distt. Nawalparasi (Nepal), Aged 28 years.
