A CISF jawan posted at the Punjab-Haryana Secretariat here reported to have ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle on Sunday morning. He died on the spot.
Later the deceased was identified as Naga Arjun (35), hails from Karnataka. Naga Arjun was posted as a constable in CISF.
Chandigarh Police, which reached the spot after getting information about the incident, has started investigation. The incident has also been informed to the CISF officials.
According to the information received, CISF jawan Naga Arjun shot himself around 4 am on Sunday. Suddenly there was a stir on the spot due to the loud sound of firing. Other jawans and personnels present nearby immediately ran to the spot and saw that Naga Arjun had been shot and was covered in blood. When other jawans tried to wake up Naga Arjun, he did not wake up. After this, the information of the incident was given to the high officials of CISF as well as Chandigarh Police.
However, it is not yet known why CISF jawan Naga Arjun took this step of ending his life. What was the matter that he gave his life. Did he have any departmental or duty problem or family problem? However, it is believed that young Naga Arjun has taken this step only after being mentally disturbed. Investigation is going on.
