VIGILANCE BUREAU ARRESTS FORMER MLA KUSHALDEEP DHILLON IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE, HIS TWO AIDS ALSO BOOKED

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state on Tuesday arrested Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon ALIAS Kikki Dhillon, former MLA from Faridkot for amassing huge wealth than his known sources of income.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the state VB informed that a corruption case has been registered against the above said MLA along with co-accused Gursewak Singh resident of village Nanaksar, Faridkot district and Rajwinder Singh resident of village Dhanna Shaheed, Ferozepur district after investigation of a vigilance enquiry.

(SUBHEAD)He further informed that to assess his all moveable and immovable assets a check period has been fixed for five years from 01-04-2017 to 31-03-2022 by the Bureau. During the probe it was found that he had created wealth more than all his income and purchased properties in the names of other persons in village Mumara, tehsil Sadik, Faridkot. It was also found that he had made expenditures of about 245 percent than his known sources of income, he added.

The spokesperson further informed that in this regard a case under section 13(1), 13(2) of prevention of corruption act and 120-B of IPC has been registered against all the above said accused at VB police station Ferozepur range. The above said former MLA has been arrested in this case and would be produced in the competent court tomorrow. Further investigation in this case was under progress, he added.
