JOINT COORDINATION MEETING BETWEEN SENIOR PUNJAB POLICE OFFICERS OF BORDERING DISTRICT AND SENIOR BSF OFFICERS HELD AT KHASA

AJoint Coordination Meeting of senior Police officers of the bordering district of Punjab and senior BSF Officers was organized at BSF Campus, Khasa, Amritsar to further strengthen the inter-departmental
coordination.

The meeting was Chaired by Shri Arpit Shukla, IPS, SDG (Law and Order) and attended by DIG Border Range Amritsar, DIG Range Ferozepur, SSPs of seven bordering districts. BSF delegation was led by Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier, who attended the meeting with all Sector DIGs of BSF Punjab Frontier.

During the meeting, after deliberations on various aspects of crimes taking place in the bordering area with support from across the border was done and a mutual agreement was reached to enhance the operational posture of BSF & Police.

(SUBHEAD)In the meeting, the emerging trends of terrorist-gangster-smuggler criminal nexus, sensitive issues like drug trafficking, capacity building in the area of counter drone measures and fast exchange of actionable information, on real time basis, was deliberated upon.

The importance was given to seamless coordination at multi-levels between  Police and BSF to counter the challenge of drug menace.6. The net gain of this joint co-ordination meeting was to jointly endeavour to instill faith in the hearts and minds of our border population towards the Uniformed  Forces and provide them with a sense of security. BSF and Punjab police are committed to continue efforts to secure our borders and safeguard the interest of our citizens.
