GIRLS SHOULD COME FORWARD IN SPORTS: MANOJ TIWARI, MP, BODY BUILDING, PHYSIQUE CHAMPIONSHIP AND NATIONAL POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP HELD

The Bold Nation and Chandigarh Physique Alliance's first Body Building, Physique Championship and National Powerlifting Championship kicked off at Indradhanush Auditorium here today. BJP MP and popular Bhojpuri singer and actor, Manoj Tiwari was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
BJP leader, Manoj Tiwari said in his address, “I always feel delighted coming to Chandigarh. I am in politics and a singer and Bhojpuri Actor also, but I give a lot of importance to sports as well. I am an athlete and run at least four kilometers daily. Youth should stay away from drug addiction and should not even think about it.”
Tiwari said that girls should also participate in sports. “My message to the world is that let the daughters come forward only then gender discrimination will end,” he said, wishing all the best to the women athletes.(SUBHEAD)
Bollywood and Pollywood actor, Sachin Rishi, and Celebrity Cricket League player (Actor & Organiser) Rajeev Rishi praised the show and said that they were happy to see that youth from all over the country have come to participate. They said that the youth should pay attention to their health by staying away from drugs. Keeping the body fit should be the first objective. They said that till date “we have not taken any intoxicant and we youths must do gym and workout regularly”.
Atinder Jeet Singh, Head, Chandigarh Physique Alliance said, “This championship is being held for the first time in Tricity. We want to spread the message of ‘Drug-free Haryana’. We will continue to organize such events in future also.”
Many talented youngsters as well as seniors participated in the Powerlifting and Strongman Alliance Championship events. Similarly, the bikini show saw participation of women. The winners were honoured with medals and trophies.
The championship was contested in Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men's Physique, Women's Bikini Round, Women's Physique Round and Star categories.
Apart from Hemant Angreesh, President, NPC Worldwide India and Powerlifting and Strongman Alliance, Jasdeep Singh, Sanjeev Chawla, Parveen Narang Bunty, Ankur Hastir and Sahil Dhingra were also present at the event.
Notable sponsors of the championship include Alcasva, HFN Nutrition, Gibbon Nutrition, Merchant Perfume, Tanishq, Gray Heron, Sanjeev Kalra and Protein Karel. Haryana Assembly Speaker Gianchand Gupta will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
